Worth The Splurge? | YSL Youth Liberator Foundation

The last foundation that I fell in love with was the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua. Which is surprising because my new favourite couldn't be any more different. The YSL Youth Liberator Foundation - £38.00 has been my go to base since the day I bought it. It covers redness, small blemishes and dramatically reduces the appearance of under eye circles. It's a winner, and I have yet to find anything better!

Look at that packaging. The tall, glass bottle is sturdy but quite heavy. I've dropped it (on carpet) lots of times and it still looks as beautiful as the day I bought it. The pump doesn't dispense too much product which I love. And as you can imagine it looks beautiful on top of my dresser.

The coverage of this foundation is medium to high, but doesn't feel like it. I found the formula quite thick but it absorbs beautifully and feels lightweight on the skin. It's made with the Glycanacrif Complex, which is designed to revive the skins brightness. This does just that and gives off a subtle glow without being dewy.

I find that using a real techniques buffing brush and patting this into the skin before buffing gives an almost flawless appearance. And covers the majority of my blemishes. This is my go to I can't be bothered base.

My skin has been especially problematic recently, I've left my usual cleansers at my parents house and my skin is punishing me. So to be able to cover the scaring around my chin is an absolute godsend!

The only down side is the colour range. There are only seven shades and the difference between them is quite significant. I had a sales assistant try to sell me B20, but I think that B10 is perfect. So I would advise you to get a colour match, wear it outside for a few hours and then think about purchasing it. It's not worth getting the shade wrong, especially not for £38.

This is the perfect base for the colder months and luckily for me England won't be warming up any time soon!

Do you think it's worth the splurge? What do you think of the coverage?
